Why we attacked ‘wanted’ Dino Melaye’s home – Police

Kogi State Police Command has affirmed that it sent a unit of officers to the house of “wanted” Sen. Dino Melaye at Aiyetoro-Gbede in Kogi State on Oct. 11 to effect his capture.

In an announcement in Lokoja on Saturday, the order said it made the move regarding the July 19 shooting of one of its agents, Sgt. Danjuma Salihu by hooligans suspected to be faithful to the congressperson.

The announcement marked by the order’s representative, DSP William Aya, said that the illumination pursued the charge Melaye made on his twitter page of Oct. 12 that the ADC to Gov. Yahaya Bello of Kogi led a few officers to his home to kill him.

“The ADC has nothing to do with this case. The Command wish to state unequivocally that the announcement isn’t just an invention of the creative ability of Sen. Melaye who has aced the craft of political gimmickry, yet absolutely false, pernicious and profoundly evil.

“The Commissioner of Police sent Police Officers to his nation home for capture, lamentably we didn’t get him at home,” the announcement said.

It denounced Melaye, who is speaking to Kogi West senatorial region of activating hooligans to assault its work force on routine obligation along Mopa– Aiyetoro-Gbede on July 19 with no incitement.

“The hooligans shot and harmed Force No. 432913 Sgt. Danjuma Saliu who is as of now accepting treatment at Veda Crest Hospital, Abuja,” the announcement said.

Aya said Melaye was welcomed authoritatively through letter No. AR:3000/KGS/X/VOL.43/670 dated 23/7/2018 to come and answer the charges on him yet declined to show up or give purpose behind not regarding the welcome.

“The Senator is needed by the Kogi State Police Command for criminal scheme, endeavored guilty manslaughter and unlawful ownership of guns,” the announcement clarified.

It spoke to Melaye to answer to the direction central command in Lokoja to answer the charges against him and quit uniting issues with individuals who have nothing to do with the current case.
