Well known American soul vocalist, Aretha Franklin has been accounted for dead.
The 76-year-old legendary vocalist was diagnosed to have growth in 2010 and declared a year ago she was resigning from music.
She was admitted into the hospital on Monday in the wake of being in a critical state after which she kicked the bucket on Thursday at her home in Detroit. CNN reports.
Franklin held the record for the most-outlined female artist in Billboard history for about 40 years, with 73 titles in the Hot 100.
